Overseas Transfer
You may use Overseas Transfer via Pay to Account, also known as Foreign Telegraphic Transfer (FTT) or Remittance. This feature allows you to perform a direct transfer to your recipient's bank account via the secure SWIFT system by debiting your RHB Multi Currency Account or RHB Savings/Current Account.

Alternatively, you may use Overseas Transfer via Pay in Cash, also known as Western Union Money Transfer (WUMT). With this option, your recipient can receive the Overseas Transfer in cash through Western Union agents by debiting your RHB Savings/Current Account.
Pay to Account (Foreign Telegraphic Transfer) allows you to perform a direct transfer to the recipient's bank account via the secure SWIFT system.

Pay in Cash (Western Union Money Transfer) allows you to perform instant transfers for the recipient to collect in cash at any Western Union agent.

If you're performing an Overseas Transfer via:

  1. Pay to Account (Foreign Telegraphic Transfer) - This may take 1 to 3 business days depending on the recipient's bank.
  2. Pay in Cash (Western Union Money Transfer) - This payment is instant.

Overseas Transfer via:

  1. Pay to Account (Foreign Telegraphic Transfer) is available from 9:30AM to 4:30PM on Federal Territory business days.
  2. Pay in Cash (Western Union Money Transfer) is available daily from 4.00AM to 11.59PM (GMT+8).

The daily limit for Overseas Transfer via:

  1. Pay to Account (Foreign Telegraphic Transfer)
    Minimum amount per transaction: MYR 100 or equivalent
    Maximum amount per transaction/per day: MYR 50,000 or equivalent
  2. Pay in Cash (Western Union Money Transfer)
    Minimum amount per transaction: MYR 1 or equivalent (subject to the currency)
    Maximum amount per transaction/per day: MYR 5,000 or equivalent

SWIFT code is the unique identification code of a particular bank. All banks have their own SWIFT Code and it's used when transferring money between banks, particularly for Overseas Transfer via Pay to Account.

Your Overseas Transfer via Pay to Account (Foreign Telegraphic Transfer) won't be processed successfully.

To ensure successful transaction, please confirm the SWIFT Code with your beneficiary or beneficiary's bank.

International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is a standard international numbering system to identify an overseas bank account. The number starts with a two-digit country code, then two numbers, followed by up to three to five alphanumeric characters.

Sort Code is a six-digit code used by British and Irish banks as a unique identifier of the recipient's branch or bank office where a bank account is held.

When you select British Pound Sterling as the currency to transfer, you'll need to include the Sort Code before the bank account number/IBAN.

Example of a Sort Code with bank account number: XXXXXX123456789
(XXXXXX is the Sort Code and 123456789 is the bank account number/IBAN).

If the Overseas Transfer has been processed, unfortunately you can't cancel the transaction.

For Overseas Transfer via:

  1. Pay to Account (Foreign Telegraphic Transfer) - You may change beneficiary details (beneficiary name, account number, SWIFT Code and beneficiary bank address).
  2. Pay in Cash (Western Union Money Transfer) - You may change beneficiary first and last name only.

Note: There may be charges imposed and the amount depends on the agent/beneficiary bank.

Unfortunately, Overseas Transfer is currently only available on RHB Online Banking but it'll be available on the RHB Mobile Banking App soon.

This is because the recipient will have to bear the charges for Overseas Transfer that may be imposed by the agent's bank or the recipient's bank.
