Please be informed that we have improved the Terms and Conditions for Housing Loan/Home Financing-i* (“Terms and Conditions”) following to the fair treatment requirement which shall take effect from 29 August 2019.

I received a notification from the Bank regarding the improvement to the terms and conditions of my Housing Loan/Home Financing-i* (“Terms and Conditions”). What is this about?

The Bank is applying the principle of fair treatment to financial consumers in the Housing Loan/Home Financing-i* contracts by enhancing the reasonableness and transparency of the Terms and Conditions.

Customer will get a better understanding on the improved Terms and Conditions that emphasizes on plain language, disclosure transparency and adequate notice.

Is the improvement in the Terms and Conditions applicable to conventional and Islamic products?

Yes. It is applicable to all Conventional Housing Loan and Islamic Home Financing products.

When will the improved Terms and Conditions take effect?

The improved Terms and Conditions for Housing Loan/Home Financing-i will take effect from 29 August 2019.

A copy of the improved product Terms and Conditions is now available.

Do I need to sign a new or supplementary document related to the improved Terms and Conditions?

Not required.

All existing Terms and Conditions remained unchanged and the improved Terms and Conditions are based on the principles of fair treatment to the customers.

Will this impact my existing Housing Loan/Home Financing-i contract?

There will be no changes on the existing Terms and Conditions of your Housing Loan/Home Financing-i contract.

Do I need to pay any additional fees and charges or stamping fees arising from improvement of Terms and Conditions?

No, there are no additional fees and charges.
