What is Security Code?

Security Code is a random and unique 6 digit code that will be displayed to you whenever a One Time Password (OTP) is required. It will be displayed on screen and sent via SMS to your registered handphone number. You must always ensure that the Security Code appeared on screen is the same as the Security Code received on your SMS before entering the One Time Password accordingly.

If it does not match, please cancel the transaction and contact our Customer Care Centre at 03-9206 8118 for assistance.

What is One Time Password (OTP)?

One Time Password (OTP) is an alphanumeric code that is only valid for a single transaction when you perform any high risk transaction. The OTP will be sent together with Security Code via SMS to your registered handphone number. You have to make sure that the Security Code displayed on the Confirmation Page is an exact match with the Security Code sent via SMS before entering your OTP to complete the transaction. OTP is case sensitive.

If it does not match, please cancel the transaction and contact our Customer Care Centre at 03-9206 8118 for assistance.

In what scenario will I receive the Security Code and OTP?

One Time Password (OTP) is required as transaction verification when you perform any high risks transaction(s). The following transactions are considered high risks transactions:

1. Manage Account
2. Any open fund transfer / bill payment / prepaid
3. Manage favourite account(s)
4. Update Profile
5. Fixed Deposit(s) Placement / Withdrawal / Upliftment
6. Remittance - Foreign Telegraphic Transfer / Payment Order / Western Union
7. Rewards Redemption
8. PayPal Send Money & Top Up
9. e-IPO application
10. ASNB TopUp & Manage Favourite

OTP will also be sent to you when you first navigate towards any transactional tab menu (Fund Transfer / BillPay / Prepaid Service / Investment / Profile) after your successful login to RHB Now Internet Banking.

Are there any charges for to receive OTP?

No charge for each SMS received from RHB.

How do I request for OTP?

You do not need to request for OTP. OTP will be sent automatically to your registered mobile phone number when you click " Preview" button upon performing any high risk transaction.

For new customers, you can register your mobile phone number to receive OTP at RHB Bank branches upon account opening. Alternatively, you may also register mobile number at any RHB ATM nationwide.

For existing customers, if your mobile phone number is in the bank's record, you can register/update the number to receive OTP by calling our Customer Care Centre at 03-9206 8118. Else, you must walk-in to any RHB Bank branches or RHB ATM to register/update your mobile phone number.

How do I register my mobile phone number for OTP if I am currently out of Malaysia?

Currently, updating of mobile phone number must be done at any RHB Bank branches in Malaysia only. For further clarification, please contact our Customer Care Centre at 03-9206 8118 for assistance.

If I do not receive OTP within 1 minute, what should I do?

If you do not receive your OTP within 1 minute, you can request for another OTP by clicking at 'Click here' link at the bottom or remark of the page.

Can I perform transaction without handphone?

It is advisable to have your handphone with you which number has been registered with us to receive One Time Password (OTP) for transaction verification while performing any high risks transactions. However, it is not required to have OTP for transactions such as fund transfer to own account(s), bill payment to own Credit Card/Loan/Hire Purchase account(s) and all favourite transactions that you have set up via RHB Now Internet Banking.

Do I need to enter OTP for every single transaction?

OTP is not required to be entered when performing transactions as below:

1. Fund transfer to own account(s)
2. Bill Payment to own credit card/loan/hire purchase account(s)
3. All favourite transactions
4. Cheque inquiry status

Can I use my credit card to register/update a new mobile phone number for OTP via ATM?

Only ATM or Debit Card can be used to register/update a new mobile number registration for OTP via ATM.

I used an ATM card to register for RHB Now Internet Banking. Can I use a different card to register my mobile number for OTP?

You can only register a mobile number for OTP using the same card used for RHB Now registration.

How long do I need to wait for my registered mobile phone number to be updated if I register via ATM?

Registered mobile phone number via ATM will be updated immediately.

I have entered the wrong mobile phone number at the ATM, can I re-register ?

Yes, you may re-register your mobile phone number for OTP via ATM.

Are there any charges to register / update my mobile number via ATM?

No charges for any mobile number registration / update.

Which ATM machine can I register / update my mobile phone number?

You may register your mobile phone number for OTP at any RHB ATM machines.

Can I register / update my mobile number via ATM after midnight?

Yes. You may register / update your mobile phone number for OTP via ATM from 12.30am 2.30am and 3.30am 11.59pm.

Can I register / update more than one mobile phone number at ATM?

You may register more than one mobile phone number, however only the latest registered mobile number will be updated into the system.

How to cancel a registered mobile number for OTP?

You may cancel your registered mobile phone number for OTP by calling our Customer Care Centre at 03-92068118 or visit any nearest branch.

Why can't I register / update my mobile number successfully via ATM?

You are advised to contact our Customer Care Centre at 03-92068118 for further assistance. Alternatively, you may walk in to any RHB branches to register / update your mobile number accordingly.

Do I need to keep the ATM receipt after registering my mobile number for OTP?

You are advised to keep the ATM receipt after registering your mobile number for reference should there be any disputes raised.

What should I do if I still do not receive OTP even though I have registered / updated my mobile number successfully via ATM?

You are advised to contact our Customer Care Centre at 03-92068118 for further assistance.

Can I register / update mobile number via any RHB ATMs overseas?

No. You can only register / update your mobile number via any of RHB ATMs in Malaysia, including RHB Islamic branches and Easy Outlets.

What if I have not registered or updated my mobile number?

RHB would like to urge all RHB Now users to keep their mobile numbers updated to avoid any inconvenience when performing transactions via RHB Now.

How can I update my mobile number to receive OTP?

You can update your mobile number at RHB ATMs (Insert ATM card > Key in PIN > Select the preferred language > Select Others > Select Mobile Number Registration > Select RHB Now OTP > Key in the preferred Mobile Number > Select Correct) or you may also visit our nearest RHB Branch.

What if I am overseas, how can I update my mobile number to receive OTP?
