These solutions cater to the hedging and investment needs of clients in Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. The team also manages the Group’s liquidity and funding requirements, while optimising returns through strategic investment of excess funds.

Transaction Banking Transaction Banking provides innovative business solutions such as cash management and trade finance, including supply chain financing and working capital solutions. These services are designed to support SMEs, commercial enterprises, and large corporates in managing their working capital efficiently and driving business growth.

Investment Banking Advisory Investment Banking Advisory delivers a full suite of advisory services, including corporate and capital restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and takeovers. The team also facilitates fundraising through equity and debt instruments, leveraging regional platforms to provide cross-border solutions across ASEAN.

Securities Securities provides brokerage and trading services for institutional and retail clients, offering comprehensive access to the Malaysian market as well as regional markets such as Indonesia and Cambodia. The team combines market expertise with a wide variety of products and advanced platforms to deliver seamless trading experiences and investment opportunities.

Asset Management Asset Management offers comprehensive investment services, including unit trust fund management, private mandates, investment advisory, product development, and trustee services. Client Coverage Client Coverage serves as the primary and first touchpoint for corporate and institutional clients, ensuring an in-depth understanding of their needs and delivering integrated solutions across GWB’s product offerings. Group Community Banking (“GCB”) is committed to serving individuals and families with comprehensive financial solutions tailored to their needs. We offer both conventional and Shariah-compliant banking options to help our customers achieve their financial goals. GCB provides a full suite of personalised solutions, including Wealth Management, Bancassurance, Mortgages, Auto Financing, ASB Financing, Personal Financing, Credit & Debit Cards and Deposits - empowering customers to manage, grow and protect their wealth.

GCB focuses on everyday banking via a mix of physical branches and digital solutions, while also aiming to increase financial access and inclusion within the local communities.

RHB Islamic Bank is the Shariah-compliant arm of RHB Banking Group, offering a comprehensive range of financial services across the retail, SME, corporate, commercial, wealth management and investment banking segments. Group Corporate and Business Banking (“GCBB”) comprise Group Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking and Small and Medium Enterprises ('SME') Banking.

Group Corporate Banking provides a comprehensive suite of Conventional and Shariah-compliant financial solutions tailored for large corporate clients listed on local and international stock exchanges, as well as multinational companies, government entities, government agencies and government-linked companies. The segment’s offerings include working capital financing, bridging/term financing, project financing, syndication, corporate exercise support, structured trade finance, unrated corporate bond/sukuk, and foreign currency hedging, ensuring a holistic approach to diverse financial needs.

Commercial Banking serves small and mid-cap listed and unlisted companies, bridging the gap between large corporates and SMEs. The segment supports customers business expansion by providing essential Conventional and Shariah-compliant financing for capital expenditure, bridging/term financing, project financing, trade financing, working capital, liquidity management and foreign currency hedging, integrating tailored financial solutions with sector-specific expertise.

SME Banking focuses on serving small and medium enterprises by providing a comprehensive suite of financing, transaction and advisory solutions to support the SMEs business growth and day-to-day operations. The proposition includes working capital financing, property financing, trade facilities, and cash management services, positioning us as one of the leading market players for Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Funding Schemes. In line with our commitment to innovation and digital enablement, we offer direct API connectivity with third-party business solution providers through RHB’s SME e-solution, and online financing application for SMEs through RHB’s SME Online Financing - both were first amongst Malaysian banks.

Group International Business (“GIB”) serves as a core pillar to spearhead the Group’s regional growth agenda, with regional commercial banking operations spanning across five countries, namely Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, Brunei, and Laos, and leveraging Malaysian headquarters’ expertise.

Kwong Yik Bank Berhad

  • 1913

    Establishment of Malaya’s first local bank.

  • 1997

    Merges with DCB Bank Berhad, making it the country’s biggest ever banking merger at that time.

Sime Bank Berhad (Formerly known as UMBC Bank)

  • 1959

    Establishment of United Malayan Banking Corporation Berhad (UMBC).

  • Milestone Year 11

  • 1960

    Officially declared open by Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. It is the first commercial bank to be established in independent Malaya.

  • 1996

    UMBC becomes part of Sime Darby Berhad and is renamed Sime Bank Berhad.

  • 1999

    Merges with RHB Bank Berhad and becomes part of the RHB Banking Group.

DCB Bank Berhad

  • 1966

    Establishment of Development and Commercial Bank (D&C Bank, later renamed DCB Bank).

  • 1997

    Merges with Kwong Yik Bank Berhad to form RHB Bank Berhad, turning a medium-sized bank into the third largest integrated financial services group in Malaysia.

Utama Banking Group (UBG)

  • 1976

    A licensed commercial bank, is incorporated as a public company.

  • 2003

    Merger of RHB Bank Berhad with Bank Utama Berhad into the RHB Banking Group.

RHB Banking Group

  • 1983

    Rashid Hussain secures a broker’s licence and sets up Rashid Hussain Securities Sdn Bhd.

  • Milestone Year 10

  • 1996

    Rashid Hussain acquires a 75% stake in Kwong Yik Bank Berhad.

  • 1997

    Merger of Kwong Yik Bank Berhad and DCB Bank Berhad to form RHB Bank, then Malaysia’s third largest financial services group.

  • 1999

    Merger of Sime Bank Berhad and RHB Bank Berhad to form the RHB Banking Group.

  • 2003

    Merger of RHB Bank Berhad with Bank Utama Berhad into the RHB Banking Group.

  • 2005

    RHB Banking Group received a license for its Islamic Banking arm - RHB Islamic Bank Berhad.

  • 2009

    Inception of Easy by RHB, the first innovative community bank in Asia that offers fast and simple banking experience through cutting-edge technology.

  • 2012

    RHB Capital acquired OSK Investment Bank, paving the way for the RHB Banking Group’s strong presence in ASEAN and Hong Kong.

  • 2013

    RHB Banking Group celebrates RHB Bank's 100th Anniversary.

  • 2016

    RHB Bank Berhad assumes the listing status of RHB Capital Berhad as the financial holding company.
