GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR / GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Dato' Khairussaleh Ramli ("Dato' Khairussaleh") was appointed as Managing Director of RHB Bank Berhad and Deputy Group Managing Director of RHB Banking Group on 13 December 2013. He was subsequently appointed as Group Managing Director/Group Chief Executive Officer of RHB Banking Group on 5 May 2015.
Dato' Khairussaleh sets the Group’s vision and strategic direction while defining and shaping RHB’s corporate culture and brand values. He leads the Group in managing its businesses and operations to achieve set targets and goals and maximise the Group’s return on capital invested.
Dato' Khairussaleh has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services and capital markets industry, where he has held senior positions in well-established regional financial institutions. He is also a Council member of The Association of Banks in Malaysia and Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.
His knowledge and experience have earned him the "Best CFO in Malaysia Award" in 2010 and 2011 from Finance Asia and the "Best CFO in Malaysia Award" in 2012 from Alpha Southeast Asia.
Dato' Khairussaleh holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme, Harvard Business School. He is also a Fellow Chartered Banker of Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.
He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, RHB Foundation and also a member of the Board of Directors of Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
SYED AHMAD TAUFIK ALBAR
MANAGING DIRECTOR, GROUP INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar was appointed as Managing Director, Group International Business on 2 February 2021.
In his new role, Taufik’s main responsibility is to oversee the growth and performance of the Group’s international businesses which covers commercial, investment banking and asset management, synergising the functions and resources across the Group and within the countries that RHB is present. Taufik will also oversee the non-Retail Loan Recovery business with a focus of boosting recovery efforts.
Prior to this appointment, he was the Group Chief Financial Officer since 1 December 2016.
Taufik has more than 20 years of experience as an accountant and a finance professional with domestic and international exposures in Oil & Gas, mobile telecommunications and infrastructure, as well as property development and construction. He started his career in finance with Shell and worked in various Shell offices in Malaysia, Australia and the Netherlands. Prior to joining RHB, he was the Group Chief Financial Officer of UEM Group Berhad and Chief Financial Officer of Smart Axiata (Cambodia) before that.
Taufik holds a Master of Economics and a Bachelor of Accounting degrees from International Islamic University Malaysia. He is a fellow of Chartered Institute of Management Accountant (CIMA) and a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
NIK RIZAL KAMIL TAN SRI NIK IBRAHIM KAMIL
GROUP CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Nik Rizal Kamil Tan Sri Nik Ibrahim Kamil was appointed as the Group Chief Financial Officer on 2 February 2021. Nik Rizal leads Group Finance and ensures the effectiveness of the various finance functions across the Group, including budgeting, reporting, capital and balance sheet management, taxation, procurement and recovery.
Nik Rizal brings with him 25 years of working experience in the areas of accounting and finance as well as strategic investments, domestically and regionally. Prior to this appointment, he was an Executive Director of Investments at Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”) and was responsible for Khazanah’s investments in Telecommunications, Media & Technology (TMT). He was also the Head of Private Markets for North America, EMEA and South Asia, leading Khazanah's investment and divestment projects, value creation activities and overall Private Equity asset class strategy execution, whilst heading the international offices in San Francisco, Istanbul and Mumbai. Nik Rizal also served as Khazanah's Nominee Director on the boards of several public listed and private companies both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining Khazanah, Nik Rizal held various leadership positions overseeing finance, strategy, and planning within the Royal Dutch Shell Plc. group of companies, having been based in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Nik Rizal holds a MSc Finance from London Business School and a BSc (Hons) Economics & Accounting from University of Bristol, United Kingdom. He is also a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
JEFFREY NG EOW OO
MANAGING DIRECTOR, GROUP COMMUNITY BANKING
Jeffrey Ng was appointed as the Managing Director, Group Community Banking on 1 July 2021.
In his current role, Jeffrey is responsible to lead the Group towards achieving our aspiration of becoming a true Community Bank, providing a seamless experience for individuals and SME customers. He will be responsible to ensure the Bank remains at the forefront in terms of asset size, deposit balances, wealth business, profitability and market share, leveraging on all available sales channels across the country and our on-going pursuit to digitise customer journeys.
He has close to 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, focusing particularly in the management of the SME segment. Prior to his current role, Jeffrey has been Head, Group Business & Transaction Banking since 18 December 2017.
Jeffrey is a qualified Chartered Accountant and spent the early part of his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers covering assurance. He is also a chartered member of The Malaysian Institute of Accountants, The Association of the Chartered Certified Accountants of the United Kingdom and a Chartered Banker with the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.
MOHD RASHID MOHAMAD
MANAGING DIRECTOR, GROUP WHOLESALE BANKING
Mohd Rashid Mohamad was appointed as the Managing Director, Group Wholesale Banking on 1 July 2021.
In his new role, Rashid will lead the formulation and execution of business strategy for GWB which covers Group Investment Banking, Group Treasury & Global Markets, Group Corporate Banking, Group Asset Management, Group Transaction Banking, Group Commercial Banking and Economics. His priority is to drive the performance of GWB by fostering better collaboration amongst the various businesses, improve product offerings and operational excellence so as to ensure that customers are served in a more holistic and effective manner.
Rashid began his career in Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in 1988 and spent 14 years in Examination/Supervision Department and Investment Operations & Financial Markets Department. He has over 30 years working experience in financial markets with several financial institutions in Singapore and Malaysia namely ABN Amro NV, The Royal Bank of Scotland and AmBank Group.
Prior to his current role, Rashid was the Group Treasurer of RHB Banking Group since March 2014.
Rashid holds a Master’s in Business Administration with Distinction from the University of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) from University Technology Mara (“UiTM”), Shah Alam, Selangor.
He is a Vice President of Financial Market Association (“FMA”), while holding memberships in Malaysian Institute of Accountants (“MIA”), Industry Advisory Council, PayNet and Financial Market Committee (‘FMC”) in BNM.
DATO’ ADISSADIKIN ALI
MANAGING DIRECTOR, RHB ISLAMIC BANK
Dato’ Adissadikin Ali joined RHB Banking Group on 1 July 2016. Effective 1 August 2016, Dato’ Adissadikin assumed the role of Managing Director, RHB Islamic Bank
Dato’ Adissadikin’s responsibilities include leading, managing and growing the Islamic Banking and Shariah Business within the Group.
Dato’ Adissadikin has more than 20 years of experience in financial services industry having held senior positions in Bank Islam Malaysia and AlKhair International Islamic Bank Berhad. Prior to joining RHB, he was the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at Export- Import Bank Malaysia Berhad.
He holds an MBA (Finance), University of Malaya and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Banking and Finance), Monash University, Australia. Amongst his other qualifications are Diploma in Investment Analysis, University Teknologi MARA (“UiTM”), Malaysia and an Advanced Management Program (“AMP”), Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. He is also a Chartered Banker, Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers, (“AICB”), Chartered Banker, Chartered Banker Institute, UK and Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance, Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals, Malaysia.
Dato’ Adissadikin holds external memberships in the Board of Industry Advisors, Faculty of Business and Accountancy, University of Malaya, Board of Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (“IBFIM”) and is the President and Council Member, Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia (“AIBIM”).
MR KONG SHU YIN
MANAGING DIRECTOR, RHB INSURANCE BERHAD
Mr Kong Shu Yin was appointed as the Managing Director, RHB Insurance Berhad on 13 March 2011. His responsibilities include managing and growing RHB Banking Group’s insurance business.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance business during which he has worked with one of the largest insurers in Malaysia in various capacities including as a CEO. He has acquired experience in the Thailand and Indonesian insurance markets.
Kong Shu Ying holds a degree in Civil Engineering from University of Malaya, Malaysia and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Malaysian Insurance Institute. He also the Chairman of ISM Insurance Services Berhad and a Member of Management Committee, Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (“PIAM”).
GROUP CHIEF DIGITAL & TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Rohan Krishnalingam was appointed as Group Chief Digital and Technology Officer on 1 August 2019. He is responsible for the provision of accurate and timely technology and back-office operations and services support for the relevant business/functional units, develop the IT and Digital Strategy towards driving the implementation of Digital and IT transformation, lead the efforts on digitization of RHB Banking Group, and drive the adoption of Agile@Scale as part of the Group’s strategic focus to create a winning operating model.
Rohan was initially appointed as Group Chief Operations Officer of RHB Banking Group in January 2014, to drive Group-wide digital, technology and operations functions. Prior to this, he was a Senior Partner with a technology and management consulting firm. He has more than 20 years of experience with financial services organisations in designing and implementing large-scale transformation programmes, predominantly in areas of technology and operations. He has worked with various industries in Malaysia and the ASEAN region with strong technology delivery and programme management skills, especially in the implementation of large-scale technology and IT strategic planning. He has led major banking and financial services projects including the implementation of core banking systems, enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) and customer relationship management (“CRM”), IT transformation programmes, IT merger integration programmes and industry-wide payment systems.
Rohan holds a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Hons) from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
GROUP HUMAN RESOURCE ADVISOR
Jamaluddin Bakri was appointed as the Group Human Resource Advisor on 12 April 2021.
In his current role, he is responsible for leading the execution of all human capital initiatives across the Group, which includes development and execution of long-term Human Resources (“HR”) strategies and the continuous elevation of internal HR capability to support the Group’s strategic goals. He is also responsible in the strategic planning, organisational development, human capital development, succession planning, rewards and performance management for the Group.
Jamaluddin brings with him more than 20 years of solid track record in HR functions, having spent more than 15 years overseas where he gained experience working with different nationalities, diverse cultures and working styles. He has also partnered with Business Leaders of multinational and local organisations in driving various HR strategies globally and locally.
Prior to his current role, he was the Group Chief Human Resource Officer of RHB Banking Group for 7 years. His other roles before joining RHB includes being the Group Head of HR for IHH Healthcare Berhad, one of the largest private healthcare companies in the world. He also spent 14 years with Microsoft in various HR leadership functions, with his last role as Regional HR Director for Asia Services.
He holds an MBA in Human Resources from the University of Hull, United Kingdom with a background in Mechanical Engineering.
DAVID CHONG MING LIANG
GROUP CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER
David Chong was appointed as Group Chief Operations Officer (“GCOO”) on 2 February 2021. As GCOO, David oversees the overall RHB Banking Group’s operations within Malaysia and ASEAN to achieve excellence, continued improvement and optimization across the Group’s operation functions including credit operations, treasury operations, banking and payment operations, as well as branch operations support, and property services. He also oversees the customer contact centre operations and services of the Bank branches, and provides leadership in driving customer experience and operational excellence strategy and programmes Group-wide, which includes initiatives on robotic process automation.
Prior to his current role, David was the Chief Operations Officer of RHB Bank. He has more than 25 years of experience in various global consulting organisations and Malaysian financial services institutions. He has held various leadership roles in business and marketing and his extensive experience also includes diversified roles in operational transformation, programme management, strategic planning, analytics and customer relationship management.
David is a Chartered Certified Accountant with an MBA from Strathclyde University, United Kingdom.
DR SIEW CHAN CHEONG
GROUP CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER
Dr Siew Chan Cheong was appointed as Group Chief Strategy Officer on 2 May 2019. He is responsible for driving the Group’s strategic priorities, supporting strategy teams within each business unit in the development of business specific strategies to drive improvement in financial and strategic outcomes. He develops and refines value- based portfolio management of the Group, drives top-down change initiatives (FIT22 Strategy Execution) and spearheads the Group’s annual business planning.
Dr Siew has more than 19 years of experience in developing strategy and implementing large-scale transformation programmes, especially for financial services providers across Europe and Asia. He has also developed and implemented strategies for large global / regional banks and insurance firms, covering business growth, operational improvement, talent and technology strategies. Prior to this appointment, he was the Senior Director for Financial Services with Strategy & (formerly Booz & Company), which is part of the PwC network, serving financial services clients across South East Asia.
Dr Siew holds a PhD in Engineering and a Bachelor (1st Class Hons) in Engineering from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. He also has an MBA from London Business School, United Kingdom.
GROUP CHIEF COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER / CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, RHB FOUNDATION
Norazzah Sulaiman was appointed as the Group Chief Communications Officer on 27 July 2017. Her responsibilities include driving and building RHB Banking Group’s brand and reputation through strategic communications, media engagement and crisis management as well as managing stakeholder engagement. She also drives the Group’s Sustainability vision and materiality matters as outlined by the Group’s Sustainability Framework, with the objective of ensuring that the Group adopts a practical approach towards integrating environment, social and governance considerations into the Group’s business and operations. Norazzah is also the Chief Executive Officer of RHB Foundation, a non-profit organisation that spearheads the Group’s community engagement and development initiatives, focusing on nurturing future generations.
Norazzah joined RHB on 1 March 2003 as Group Legal Advisor and Group Company Secretary. In 2007, she was appointed Chief Operating Officer of RHB Capital. Following the Group’s strategic transformation in 2010, she was appointed as Director of Group Corporate Services, and subsequently as Group Chief Governance Officer in 2013. With more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry, Norazzah’s experience include legal advisory, human resource, corporate secretarial, strategic communications, media relations, crisis and reputation management.
She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the RHB-UKM Endowment Fund and the Board of Trustees for RHB Foundation.
Norazzah holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree with Honours from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries Malaysia.
ABDUL SANI ABDUL MURAD
GROUP CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
Abdul Sani Abdul Murad leads the Group Marketing division and is responsible for both corporate and product branding and marketing across the Group. His responsibilities include facilitating customer growth and sales to increase revenue generation through execution of branding and marketing strategies, in close collaboration with the business leaders; developing brand and segmented communications positioning and strategy, leverage on competitive analysis/market intelligence, prospecting/lead generation and promotions using data and analytics to drive insights; developing and managing the Group’s Brand corporate identity and to ensure consistency of applications across all touch-points and communication materials and driving digital customer engagement through the Group’s digital assets i.e. social media and website.
Sani has more than 20 years of experience as a Marketing professional. He started his career at Unilever Malaysia as a Management Trainee and progressively grew in the company. He led the branding teams in various product lines and helped grow key businesses into market leadership positions. His achievement includes increasing sales volume for new products via campaigns. He has also done brand migration exercise. Sani has been awarded numerous business and marketing awards while serving in Unilever for 10 years.
Prior to joining RHB, Sani was the Head of Marketing with HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad for 9 years. He supported the overall marketing in doing structural changes and ensure the growth of the business. His achievement in HSBC includes launching HSBC Islamic Bank franchise, tripled the size of Affluent customer base and commercialised digital channel for the business. HSBC Bank Malaysia was awarded with Best Marketing Campaign Award by HSBC Group in 2009 and its Marketing team was recognized as HSBC’s Best Marketing Team in Asia Pacific in 2010 by its Regional Office.
Sani has won various marketing awards for his contributions and expertise. He was awarded a Marketing Distinction by Marketing Magazine in 2013 and the “CMO Award” for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019 for being one of Malaysia’s top marketers by Marketing Magazine. In 2019, he was named as one of the “Influential Marketing Leaders to Watch” by Insight Success Magazine.
Sani holds a Bachelor Degree of Economics from University of Malaya and is a Member of the Malaysian Advertisers Association.
DR CHONG HAN HWEE
GROUP CHIEF RISK OFFICER
Dr Chong Han Hwee was appointed as the Group Chief Risk Officer of the RHB Banking Group on 28 September 2020. He is responsible for the effective management of Group-wide Risk Management across credit, operations, market and Shariah. He also oversees the development of risk management benchmarked with good practices within the industry.
Prior to joining RHB, Dr Chong was a Partner in EY Malaysia where he headed the Financial Services Risk Management function.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance from Curtin University of Technology, Australia and earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Curtin University (formerly known as Curtin University of Technology), Australia.
