Card-Not-Present (Online) & Overseas Transaction
A Card-Not-Present (Online) is a retail spend transaction where the cardholder isn't physically present (e.g. non face-to-face) at the merchant when the payment is made, which includes online (internet) purchase transactions, mail order and telephone order as well as non-secured online transactions.
An overseas transaction is a transaction that is performed out of the country (e.g. out of Malaysia). Overseas transactions and withdrawal include overseas point-of-sale purchase (POS) and cash withdrawals made at Automated Teller Machine (ATMs) outside Malaysia.
In order to prevent cardholders from becoming victims of fraudulent transactions, all financial institutions are mandated by Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) regulation to block cardholders from performing any Card-Not-Present (Online) and/or Overseas transactions that aren't authenticated via strong authentication method such as dynamic password by using a Debit Card/-i, unless the cardholder has expressly opted in to perform such transactions.

The requirement to opt-in seeks to ensure that adequate risk management and controls are in place among financial institutions and issuers, and to educate customers of the safe practices in order to mitigate the risks of unauthorised transactions, in particular for Card-Not-Present (Online) and/or Overseas Transactions.
After logging into your account, go to Account Details page and then Manage Card Settings and toggle on. You can also go to Account at the side menu bar and then select Manage Card Settings and choose toggle on.

You can use it immediately once it's enabled.
Whenever Card-Not-Present (Online) and Overseas Transactions are performed, there is a risk of your account data being compromised or the information being used for unauthorised purchases and/or cash withdrawals. Please be reminded that in the case of overseas transactions, the card verification features for POS transactions may vary from country to country and some country/merchants may not adopt a stringent approach. Fraudulent transactions may occur if your account data is compromised.
